Collecting rain water during the water shortage...what an interesting experience :)  Never thought I would be praying for rain...

This is the Day

Hello dear friends and family!
Well, today is the day in which my journey begins =)  WOW!  I have waited a long time for this day.  Our Father is so incredible!  He has prepared me for this day and it is an honor and a privilege to serve!  Last evening my parents and I arrived in Omaha.  I ate some GOOD pepperoni pizza, took a dip in the pool, and, once again, assessed my priorities in my luggage to try and meet my weight requirements...what a day!  I have been so blessed by all of you =)  There are not words to express my gratitude for your thoughts.
In just a few short hours I'll be heading to the airport...to say "Goodbye" yet again.  There will be tears and most likely some laughter if you know my family =)  Another unexpected blessing...I have a 2.5 hour layover in Denver, CO where my brothers live.  They are planning to come and meet me for a quick coffee.  Amazing how that worked out ;)
Hopefully, I can write one more time prior to my departure on Tuesday afternoon.  But if not, thank you all for all your support and encouragement!  Keep us in your thoughts =)

The Clock is Ticking

Hello All! 
As far as first blog posts go, this one will be rather boring.   However, creating this is one more thing I can cross off my to-do list =)  And as long as I have your attention, I'll let you know that I will be flying from Nebraska to Atlanta on the 13th.  I will meet up with my American teammates in Atlanta and we will all begin our journey to Africa on the 15th.  We'd appreciate it if you would keep us in your thoughts =)  Thanks!  I'll be sure and post again prior to departure from either Nebraska or at least from Atlanta =)
